Biography
Mr. Eriksen is the President of Eriksen Capital Management, LLC. He is a registered investment advisor in Washington and California, and provides portfolio management services to individual accounts and private funds.
Mr. Eriksen has a Masters in Business Administration from Texas A&M University, and Bachelor of Arts degrees in History and in Political Studies from the Master’s College. From 2004 to 2005, Mr. Eriksen worked as an independent contractor, primarily for Walker’s Manual Inc., a publisher of investment books and newsletters that focuses on unlisted stocks, micro-cap stocks and community bank stocks.
Mr. Eriksen has also written articles for Marketocracy’s Marketscope newsletter and has had articles published by Forbes.com. Prior to his work for Walker’s Manual Inc., Mr. Eriksen was employed from 1999 to 2004 by Peter Kiewit & Sons, one of the country’s largest general contractors, most recently serving as an Administrative Engineer on the $600 million Benicia-Martinez Bridge project.
Since 1999, Mr. Eriksen has participated in Marketocracy, a research company whose goal is to find the best investors in the world. It tracks virtual portfolios and then selects the top portfolios to be part of the m100 and m10. The m100 is comprised of the top 100 ranked portfolios from over 60,000 reviewed. The company uses the selection of the m100 to run the Marketocracy Masters Fund, a mutual fund that as of September 30, 2006 had $42 million in assets under management. The m10 is comprised of the top 10 portfolios out of 60,000 and is used to run a private hedge fund of approximately $6 million. Mr. Eriksen’s selections were included in the m100 for most of 2003, the last nine months of 2005, and all of 2006. His selections have been included in the m10 since April 2005.
